Pig Wormer - Prairie Pride® Safe-guard® 0.9% Crumbled
A Fast, Effective and Safe Solution for Deworming Pigs - Kills Swine Parasites in the Gut, Reducing Swine Parasitic Load While Disrupting Worm Life Cycles.
SAFE-GUARD® 0.9% Dewormer Premix is a medicated premix that provides fenbendazole for mixing complete dewormer feeds for use with swine.
The 3 to 12 day treatment (pigs) removes and controls six major internal parasites in all growth stages, including weanling pigs, pregnant sows and boars.
Active Drug Ingredient: Fenbendazole...0.9% (4.08 g/lb)
Inactive Ingredients: Rice hulls, calcium carbonate and mineral oil.
Each pound of SAFE-GUARD® 0.9% Wormer treats 1,000 pounds of swine in a 3-12 day treatment.
Mixing the Pig Wormer
Mix 1 pound of the Type B (0.9%) medicated feed containing 8,165 g/ton of fenbendazole with 26.2 lb. of feed ingredients to manufacture Type C medicated feed containing 300 g. of fenbendazole per ton.
Mix 10 lb. of Type B (0.9%) medicated feed containing 8,165 g/ton of fenbendazole (contents of package) with 262 lb. of feed ingredients to manufacture a Type C medicated feed containing 300 g. of fenbendazole per ton.
Feeding
Feed the resulting Type C medicated feed as the sole ration for 3-12 consecutive days at the rate of 0.9 to 0.23 lb. per 100 lb. of body weight to provide 4.08 mg. fenbendazole per lb. of body weight.

How to deworm a pig?
The premix product should be mixed to a concentration of 10 to 300 gm fenbendazole per ton of feed. For group feeding, see chart on label for examples of mixing and feeding rates. For individual feeding, mix 1 level scoop and feed once daily for at least 3 consecutive days.
How long does it take to deworm a pig?
This product is able to deworm pigs between 3 - 12 days.
Can you deworm a pregnant pig?
This worming product is safe for use on pregnant pigs.
How long do I need to wait after deworming a pig before slaughtering?
There is no pre-slaughter withdrawal period for swine as Safe-Guard® can be fed to day of slaughter.
