General Information

Prairie Pride Safe-Guard Fenbendazole 0.5% pellets is indicated for control and removal of worms in beef and dairy cattle, horses, swine and turkeys. See product label for the specific worms by species.

Top-dress or blend with feed. Convenient to use measuring scoop included in the 5 and 10 lb. sizes.

Inactive Ingredients: Dehydrated alfalfa meal, processed grain by-products, roughage products, calcium carbonate, molasses products, vegetable oil, propionic acid (preservative).

Directions for Use

Cattle (Dairy & Beef) Mixing and Feeding Directions: 

Mix 1 lb. of the Type B (safe-guard 0.5%) medicated feed containing 4,540 g/ton of fenbendazole with 4 lb. of  feed ingredients to manufacture Type C medicated feed containing 908 grams of fenbendazole per ton. Feed the resulting Type C medicated feed as the sole ration for one day at the rate of 0.5 lb. per 100 lb. of body weight to provide 2.27 mg. fenbendazole per pound of body weight.

Feed pellets at the rate of 1 lb. per 1,000 lb. of body weight, with grain and forage to supply 2.27 milligrams of fenbendazole per lb. of body weight. Always provide plenty of clean, fresh water. Regular deworming at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks may be required due to the possibility of reinfection. Feed as sole ration for one day.

Horse Feeding Directions: The recommended dose is 5 mg of fenbendazole per kg of body weight (2.27 mg. fenbendazole per lb. of body weight - 1 lb. of safe-guard 0.5% pellets per 1,000 lb. of body weight) in a ONE day treatment. For ascarids, the recommended dose is 10 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight in a ONE day treatment. All horses must be eating normally to ensure that each animal consumes an adequate amount of the medicated feed. Safe-guard 0.5% pellets must be spread uniformly on top of the daily ration. Regular deworming at intervals of 6 to 8 weeks may be required due to the possibility of reinfection.

Growing Turkey Mixing & Feeding Directions: Mix 14.5 grams of fenbendazole per ton of feed to be fed as the sole ration for 6 days. Example: 1 lb. of Prairie Pride safe-guard 0.5% pellets should be mixed into 313 lb. of feed, to be fed as the sole ration to growing turkeys for 6 consecutive days. For growing turkeys only.

Swine Mixing & Feeding Directions: Mix 1 lb. of Type B (0.5%) medicated feed containing 4,540 g/ton of fenbendazole with 14.13 lb. of feed ingredients to manufacture Type C medicated feed containing 300 g. of fenbendazole per ton.  Feed the resulting Type C medicated feed as the sole ration for 3-12 consecutive days at the rate of 0.9 to .23 lb. per 100 lb. of body weight to provide 4.08 mg. fenbendazole per lb. of body weight.

There is no pre-slaughter withdrawal period as fenbendazole can be fed to day of slaughter.

Cattle must not be slaughtered within 13 days following last treatment.
For dairy cattle the milk discard time is zero hours.
A withdrawal period has not been established for this product in pre-ruminating calves.
Do not use in calves to be processed for veal.
Do not use in horses intended for human consumption.
Keep this and all medication out of reach of children. 
Dewormer products are intended for animal use only.
